Back to Basics: Wardrobe Staples - The Little Black Dress

As the Fashion Editor for Amitee, this months post has been based on the LBD. Visit Amitee to read my full article.

The little black dress is one of the fundamental basics for every woman's wardrobe. It has now become the epitome of timeless fashion and can be dressed up or down with other garments and accessories to suit the occasion. Here's how the little black dress can make you a fashion goddess: professional by day, sexy at night, and casual on weekends.

NOTE: When building your wardrobe from this one chic dress, keep in mind two things:
  • The key to effectively producing an outfit for any occasion from a little black dress is finding the classic shape that flatters your body type – there is one out there designed to suit your body shape.
  •  Keep it simple: the splendour of the LBD is in its brash simplicity. DO NOT OVER-DO IT.

With Love

Spring 2012 Trends to Make Your Beauty Shine Through

Guest post by Jackie Clark

A diagnosis of mesothelioma cancer http://www.mesothelioma.com/mesothelioma/  caused by asbestos exposure or any other type of cancer is a serious thing, but so is a sense of inner strength and empowerment. Fashion and beauty are effective and fun tools to help you maintain a sense of inner and outer beauty throughout cancer treatment http://www.mesothelioma.com/treatment/ . The fashion shows premiering the popular trends of Spring 2012 are full of fun and funky patterns, bright colors and flirty details. Add some of these trends to your wardrobe and your beauty routine to look and feel beautiful, trendy and empowered.

Make a Bold Statement With Neon Colors
Neon colors are back this spring and they're showing up everywhere in fashion http://fashionfightscancer.myshopify.com/ and makeup. Make a bold entrance and be noticed when you wear a neon color-blocked dress or pair your favorite jeans with a neon-colored top. If you're not ready to be quite that bold, go a more subdued route by wearing neon-colored nail polish or using neon accessories.

Get Flirty
Whether you wear a maxi skirt or mini dress, you'll want to play up your femininity by taking advantage of this springs flirty styles. Floral prints are one of the biggest trends in Spring 2012 and they're showing up on dresses, scarves and blouses. Add a ruffle-trimmed maxi skirt and you'll make a gorgeous impression.

Summon Your Wild Side
No need to tame your wild side when you can let it shine through with this springs animal and tribal print designs. Add a little excitement to your basic jeans and blouse outfit by adding a pair of leopard print high heels. Be comfortable and look stylish with a loose, mid-thigh dress in a tribal print. If you're fashion tendencies lean more toward the classics, you can combine a classic shirt-dress with an animal print scarf for a bit of fun.

Step Out in Style
Boots and heels in bold colors, fun prints and sleek leather have been strutting up and down the runway for the past couple months. Fashion shows in countries around the world boast ankle boots and high heel shoes as the two must-haves for the spring. Opt for wedge heels on either if you want more stability across the bottom of your footwear.

Every woman wants to feel beautiful in her own skin and achieving that boosts inner strength, as well. Use beauty and fashion in your fight against cancer to boost your energy and self-confidence by providing you methods with which to allow your inner beauty to shine through. When incorporating fashion and beauty the most important tip to remember is to have fun. Clothing, makeup, accessories and shoes are an effective way to enhance your beauty, show the world your personality and strength and empower yourself in your fight against cancer.

Jackie works for Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance, a leading web resource for mesothelioma cancer. She, as well as others, believe that Fashion is a wonderful way to feel strong and confident. She wants to share with the audience the reality of cancer and how women can say 'YES I have cancer', but I am no less beautiful than I was before my diagnosis.

Déjà Vu

The lovely Nelly.com has sponsored Amiteeuk.com - Déjà Vu feature for March. They’ve provided the Forget Your Boyfriend blue suade shoes (€69.95) from their Nelly Trend range to style in three different ways.

As the Fashion Editor for Amiteeuk.com, I decided to base my outfit on the idea of 'less is more'.

Clash..Clash..Clash!

Print clashing is one of many other trends that we are excited about the S/S 2012. Many designers have been spotted showcasing this trend on the catwalk already and a lot of high-street stores have now jumped on the clash-fight too.
